Meditation is the most powerful tool for TRANSFORMATION

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

Meditation is no longer solely for the spiritual Community, it is a practice that can improve the lives of EVERYONE, from CEO's, to children... Keep reading to see why...

Why Meditation Works

Why is meditation the core of our program?...

We live in a world where there are far more stressors than there were just 24 years ago. For example before we all had social media or a constant stream of news we were much less stimulated. Over stimulation can affect your stress levels in case you haven’t noticed. The main underlying reason for basically all “dis-ease” in the body and mind is some kind of chronic stress. The remedy for stress is some form of Meditation…

So what is stress?

Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand. Resulting in physical, and/or emotional tension.

There is good stress that can help you accomplish tasks more efficiently. Our pulse quickens and our hormones surge, but there is no threat or fear. We feel this type of stress when we ride a roller coaster, do high intensity workouts, compete for a promotion, or go on a first date. There are many triggers for this good stress, and it keeps us feeling alive and excited about life.

It can even boost memory!

Stress is also a vital warning system, producing the fight-or-flight response. When the brain perceives some kind of stress, it starts flooding the body with chemicals like epinephrine, norepinephrine and cortisol. So at some point too much of anything is bad for us, as we know.

Then there is ‘bad stress” that happens if you're constantly under stress, you can have physical symptoms, such as headaches, an upset stomach, high blood pressure, chest pain, and problems with sex and sleep. Stress can also lead to emotional problems, depression, panic

attacks, or other forms of anxiety and worry. It can manifest as disease and sickness in the body.

Luckily you have many tools to be able to combat this kind of stress. For example when we meditate or breath a certain way we can greatly impact the pineal gland which then triggers a process in which it alchemizes melatonin into very radical neurotransmitters that are very good for our wellbeing.

During meditation this is what your brain can do for you.

  • GABA (gamma-aminobutyricacid) increases

  • Dopamine increases

  • Serotonin increases

  • Acetylcholine increases

  • Melatonin increases

  • Cortisol decreases

  • Arginine vasopressin increases

  • b-Endorphins increase and/or undergo rhythm changes

  • Glutamate increases

  • Norepinephrine decreases

  • Epinephrine decreases

  • Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) decreases

20. Improves your ability to be creative(see here)

It makes you wise(r).

21. It gives you perspective.

By observing your mind, you realize you don't have to be a slave to it. You realize it throws tantrums, gets grumpy, jealous, happy, and sad, but that it doesn't have to run you. Meditation is quite simply mental hygiene: Minimize the useless junk called mental chatter, and make space to get in tune with your TRUE self.

"The quality of our life depends on the quality of our mind," writes Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. We can't control what happens on the outside but we do have a say over the quality of our mind. No matter what's going on, when we learn to get clear minds, and tune in with our hearts' wisdom, we can navigate the waves of life with GRACE... It ALL starts inside <3
